Formed in 2023, Pastime Activity is a group of local hard rock musicians sinking their teeth into the epic catalogue from the legendary progressive metal band System of a Down. Their debut performance was a one-set feature in the winter installment of the annual 90s/2000s rock night, throwing down to a sold-out audience at The Sanctuary Event Center. In 2024, the band played their first feature headlining event at one of the final shows held at The Hall @ Fargo Brewing Company. The band roster currently features Kari Marie (lead vocals, keyboard, percussion), Bobby Peterson (lead vocals, guitar) from "Low Standards", Quinton Vonesh (guitar, vocals) from "Phat Kats", and many members of the heavy metal group "Vessels": Davis Beattie (drums), Austin Hovrud (guitar, vocals), and Mitch Rittenbach (bass, vocals).
